Happy Sunday dear readers,
H4D is trying something new as we embark on our first summer under this oppressive and reckless regime. Every now and then we will offer a short, pithy post for you to just dwell on for a few moments. It may be a video we found intriguing, an image or photo that captures our attention, a poem that speaks to the moment, an excerpt from a book that illuminates something that is going on in the world.
In times of chaos and uncertainty, it’s important to be able to separate the signal from the noise. When lost, we have to pay exquisite attention to our surroundings. We have to look for patterns and make meaning of what we see.
This short video does that for us. John Lithgow reads from Timothy Snyder’s book, 20 Lessons on Tyranny. His voice is compelling and demands our attention. His words offer protection from the danger at the door.
So, find a comfortable spot. Settle in with a cup of coffee or tea, and take the time to listen to his words. If you don’t have it already, get the book.
Stay vigilant. Stay calm. Stay connected.
See you next week!
The H4D team!
